Lineworks Architects is an architecture and interior design studio headed by Robert Haworth and Nicola Tramontini. We believe in the ability of great spaces to improve the wellbeing of those they house. We work closely with private clients at a director level, to help them realise their ideal homes. The Lineworks process facilitates the latest technology to allow clients to fully visualise their spaces before any site work starts. We make use of high quality natural materials to deliver bespoke projects from the exterior envelope right down to each individual piece of joinery. We believe in building responsibly and employing sustainable design methods at a practical and affordable level. We are fully registered by the Architects Registration Board and are an RIBA registered practice. Check out some of our projects below…
Founding Director Rob started the practice in 2019. Prior to Lineworks, Rob worked at a several internationally and nationally renowned architectural practices on high profile projects from stadiums to private housing. Rob has extensive experience across many building types and of a great range of building materials. Rob developed a love for the reuse and reimagining of existing buildings through his later work on buildings such as the Science Gallery London and the Hidden House with LTS Architects. Sustainable use of high quality materials, with craft and care is at the core of the practices’ work. Rob also trained under Chris Wilkinson and Jim Eyre at Wilkinson Eyre Architects. The design ethos and rigour of this practice is still heavily ingrained in the Lineworks design process. Rob continues to teach and holds a regular tutoring position at The Bartlett Architecture Department at UCL, where he runs the Design Realisation module for Unit 18.
Nicola joined the practice in 2020 after a career in the fashion Industry as a senior merchandiser. Nicola worked at some of the major fashion brands for over a decade, gaining skills in managing multi-million pound budgets. A career change has led Nicola to her other passion, property and interior design. Nicola is presently re-training to be a Quantity Surveyor at LSBU. Nicola manages all the financial and administrative aspects of the practice and employs her extensive economic skills to ensure the practice runs smoothly. She hopes to grow the practice into a single unit that can both design and cost your projects for you, and ensure your project is on delivered on time and budget. Nicola regularly keeps her eye on the product market and regularly sources finish materials for the final construction phase of the jobs.
At Lineworks we constantly challenge the best way of delivering a project. We don’t operate in a traditional architectural practice format. We run a small team, and regularly collaborate with partnering architectural practices, graphic designers, animators, engineers, students and contractors. We work with people we like and who are good at what they do. We can assemble a team for projects of any size and any brief. Some of the companies we regularly collaborate with are listed above.
